For Kevin and Sheila Brown, the introduction of VFL.com could not have come at a better time.

As Kevin tells it, “I was sitting in Convention listening to Frank speak, and the room began to spin. My vision got blurry, and I thought I was having a stroke. I didn’t want to stand up and interrupt Frank, but after a minute, I leaned over to Sheila and said, ‘you’ve got to get me out of here.’”

After being rushed to the hospital, Kevin learned that he had extremely high blood pressure and that a lifestyle change was necessary. “That was the turning point for me,” recalls Kevin. “I realized I’ve got to do something or I’m not going to be there for the next Convention.”

At that point, Kevin and Sheila got on board with the VFL.com program, and they’ve never looked back. Now every morning begins with a trip to the gym and ends with recording their meals and exercise on VFL.com. Using the three pillars of VFL.com, they’ve made some big changes in their lives. In just one month, Sheila lost 20 pounds and Kevin lost nearly 30!

Get Active  From couch potatoes to exercise addicts Kevin and Sheila have gone from being self-confessed “couch potatoes” to exercise addicts. “We go to the gym now…and feel 100% better. I have more energy, and people I enroll tell me there’s a bounce in my step.” “I’ve even started taking a spinning class,” Kevin adds. “I have to eat two or three Access™ Bars first, but I’m doing it.”

Eat Smart  “For the first time in my life, I’m not on a diet and I’m losing weight.” The Daily Calorie Balance and other tools on the VFL.com site have really changed Sheila and Kevin’s outlook on eating healthy. “VFL.com taught us that you can eat anything you want,” Sheila explains, “you just have to be aware of what you’re putting in your body.” That awareness has caused them to eliminate soda and cut down on meals eaten out. In addition to saving over $500, Sheila has noticed that healthy eating has had another effect. “For the first time in my life, I’m not on a diet and I’m losing weight.” Kevin agrees, “It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change, and it’s a real eye-opener to see what you’re eating every day.”

And the contests are pretty good motivation as well. “I’m a very competitive person. I’m a contest person,” adds Sheila. “So when I heard there was going to be a contest, I said I’m all for it.”
