Marta Cerda began losing weight with VFL.com in January of 2007. She weighed 193 pounds at the time. “I was rather stunned to see I was close to 200 pounds,” she recalls. “When I saw that weight, I was shocked. I also saw a photo of myself. It wasn’t me anymore. I was having a lot of physical problems as well. I dreaded walking anywhere and any sort of physical exertion. It was hard for me. I was always tired.”
Marta made a goal to get down to 155 pounds, and got started by using Access® and taking her Vitality for Life® vitamins. She got even more excited when the 2007 Just Lose it Contest was announced. “That totally motivated me. I was very excited.” She joined VFL.com, and was thrilled at how easy it was to track her meals and receive clear feedback on her calorie intake and what was and wasn’t aligning with her goals. “The site taught me portion control,” she remembers. “I began to get clear about what a normal-sized meal should be.”
She also began exercising three times a week or more, combining walking with a Pilates class. After losing a considerable amount, she began to plateau, so she joined a dance class and started working with a personal trainer. “I became unstoppable,” she says. “I really realized that my real body, the body I should have, was out there. There was no reason I shouldn’t do it with all the different tools I had available to me.”
Marta reached her goal in March of 2008 and now weighs 153 pounds, which means she’s lost 40 pounds with the aid of Melaleuca. And her success is helping more people than just herself. She began enrolling business builders who have been inspired by her story, and has already helped one of her enrollees lose over 30 pounds. “You can reach your goal,” she says. “It is possible. It may take longer than you want, but you can do it. And when you do, it’s a tremendous victory.”
